Easy Shopping my Stash Finds a Hidden Treasure

Hello Friends! Today I have a card to share that I made by Shopping my Stash. A young man in our congregation recently celebrated his birthday, so I needed to make him a card. He comes from a family that has various pets, so I decided this was the perfect occasion to pull out the Brutus Monroe Furry Friends die set. It had found its way into my stash, but I had never actually used it.

Using the Spellbinders Emerald Cut Labels & Tags, I cut a frame from blue foiled cardstock and the centerpiece from white cardstock. I stenciled paw prints onto the white centerpiece with Memento inks, then centered the frame and stenciled panel on a 5×7 card base. I created the dog and cat with the Furry Friends die set and positioned them in the center, adding a little shading beneath them with an alcohol marker to ground the images.

I completed the card with a “Happy Birthday” sentiment in white on a black shadow, cut with the Spellbinders Classic Sentiments Die Set, and used the Sizzix Essential Type Alpha Die Set to spell out the recipient’s name.

This was such a fun Shopping my Stash project, and I cannot believe I had never used the Furry Friends die set before. The pets came together easily, the pieces fit together beautifully and they are absolutely adorable. It reminded me that there are so many wonderful supplies already in my craft room just waiting to be used. Thank you for visiting with me today. See you next time.
