It is July 1 and time for a new Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge. For my DT card this month, I chose to use the column G – square card base, watercolor paint, sentiment as focus and frame. I have not made a square card for quite a while, so I thought this would be fun.

My card base is 5.5 x 5.5 inches. I do this so that I can get my card base out of a letter-sized sheet of cardstock. Cutting a panel at 5 x 5 inches out of watercolor paper, and using my watercolor paints, I painted onto my glass work surface and then pressed the watercolor paper into the paint. I added various layers and shades of green to create the organic-looking background. Once it was dry, I added it to the card base.

Using metallic foiled cardstock, I cut the words Merry Christmas out of gold, the round frame out of red and the stars out of silver. I used vellum to cut the shadow for the sentiment so that it would mute the background a bit around the words.
We would love for you to join us at the Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge blog. You can show us your project for any occasion using one of the columns on this month’s Bingo card.

The green looks stunning. And the words are cut out beautifully. Lovely that you worked with watercolour, I think it gives a lovely effect for this card. 🙂
