It is Sheetload of Cards day today on my blog. I decided to combine the March 2025 Sheetload of Cards sketch with the new Spellbinders My Life in Pictures die set from the Golden Afternoon Rosie’s Studio collection. The die set includes an old-timey photo strip, a “smile” word die and shadow as well as some other accessory shapes.

The March 2025 Sheetload of Cards sketch makes 8 cards and uses 4 sheets of 6×6 patterned paper. I spent some time looking through my paper stash to find some papers and cardstock that I thought worked well together. I cut the pieces as per the printable which is available on Call Me Crafty Al’s YouTube channel.

Once I had assembled the cards, I die cut the photo strip from black cardstock. The strip is actually three photos long, but I trimmed it down to two so that it fitted on my A2 card. I also cut the word shadow from black cardstock twice – once with just the shadow die and once with the word die inserted into the shadow die so that it gave me an outline. I cut the word “smile” from white cardstock and then inlaid it into the outline of the one black die cut before adding them both to the solid black shadow. This gives me a dimensional sentiment with inlay die cutting.
Using a sheet of printed vellum, also from my stash, I used the single photo die to cut “negatives” for my photo strips. I used double sided adhesive sheets to fully cover the vellum before cutting it with the die so that I had no adhesive edges showing through.

What a lovely idea, something so different. And the words
‘smile’ really sticks out nicely.
I am always fascinated to see all the different dies, ideas, effects, colours,… Again – Well Done! 🙂
