Happy Friday, my blog friends! Thank you for joining me again today for a new project. I have something quite a bit different to share today—a stamping project. I don’t usually work much with stamps, but when Spellbinders asked me to create with the Storybook Illustrations collection, I was excited to give it a try. For this card, I used the Wild Friends Stamp Set and the Words for the Wild Stamp Set.
I decided to create a charming woodland scene featuring a group of animals. I stamped the large bear, the two rabbits and a butterfly before adding the “So Proud of You” sentiment. To give the animals dimension, I used masking while stamping. Because I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black Ink, I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder before coloring.
Next, I pulled out my watercolor pencils to color both the animals and the background. I hadn’t used these pencils in a long time, and this project reminded me how much I enjoy working with them. The Storybook Illustrations designs are perfect for watercolor techniques, giving the finished card a soft, storybook-inspired look.
I think these animals are absolutely adorable. The Storybook Illustrations collection includes a variety of stamp sets that make it easy to build sweet woodland scenes for many different occasions.
