Easy foiled idea with Trails End for a simple DIY card

It is Friday again and that means that I can share another project with you. Today I am sharing an easy card. The star of the card is the combination of a foiled sentiment and the Spellbinders Trails End die set. The die set has these three tree variations in it and I love the style. It is sort of semi-realistic. Is that a word?

Using the Trails End die set for a simple card

I started my card by printing the sentiment on my laser printer. I used Silhouette Studio to design the card panel and determine the size and placement of the text. I then foiled it with gold toner foil on my Minc machine.

Showing the foiling and the Trails End trees

Using the Trails End die set, I cut the trees and then inked them with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. I cut the river using a path die from my stash and then inked the card panel on each side of the river with Vintage Photo and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide inks and sponge daubers. I completed the card with a “Happy Birthday” sentiment cut in white with a black shadow.

The Trails End die set is part of the Summer Camp collection, but the trees work well on their own. Thank you for joining me again today.

  1. I like this card. The different types of trees are beautiful. The river flowing past them. Gorgeous setting. The colours along the river, leading to… who knows where…. Beautifully done. It does look semi-real. (I like that word.) And the bible verses fit so well.
    Thank you for sharing. 🙂
