Country Christmas Card Ideas That Will Warm Your Heart

Hello friends, I am back again on this Tuesday to show you the rest of the Spellbinders Country Christmas collection die sets that I have. Last week I showed you the cute Country Snowman, and today I have the barn and the horse-drawn wagon. My post has a lot of pictures, so enjoy.

The Country Christmas barn in a snowy landscape

My first project uses the Country Christmas Barn die set. I wanted to create a snowy scene, so I made the barn bright red to stand out against the white background. The barn has a roof, a decorative edge for the gable, and both doors and windows. I opted for open doors.

The die set also includes dies for a wreath for the door and two sizes of pine trees. Using the Landscape Edges die set, I created some snowbanks and inked the edges with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I dry embossed some light blue shimmer cardstock with a snowflake embossing folder for the sky, then added the snowbanks and two trees in the background.

After popping my barn up with foam tape onto the front of this 5×7 card, I added a small tree in the open doors, decorating it with gel pen “lights” and a star punched out of yellow glitter cardstock. I completed my card with a gold metallic sentiment banner from the Handmade Sentiments die set.

The Country Christmas Horse-drawn Wagon

My second card uses the horse-drawn wagon die set. It was a lot of fun to cut all the pieces and then assemble the horse and wagon. The two parts make a lovely focal point stretching across the entire landscape side of a 5×7 card.

I coordinated the colors between the horse’s collar and the gifts on the wagon and added it to my card panel, which is a piece of Christmas patterned paper. The card was completed with the words “joy to the world” from the Spellbinders Handwritten Holiday Sentiments die set, cut in white with a black shadow. Using the music notes from the Classic Mouse Borders die set, I randomly added them around the words.

Thank you for visiting with me in the middle of the week. This is a lovely collection, and I definitely think both of these die sets could be used for occasions beyond just Christmas. See you next time!

  1. The barn is so nice and bright in the winter scenery. So many little details on the card that one can enjoy.
The second card is also very beautiful. So nicely assembled. All the gift boxes look great. What might be in there…. one can only wonder. Lovely sentiment as well.
Thank you for sharing another project with us. 🙂
