A new twist on Classic Road Legends

Today I am back with another project for Spellbinders. This time I’m working with the Classic Road Legends collection and I am working with three products from the collection. These are the Classic Car die set, the Timeless Truck die set and the Classic Sentiments die set. I created an anniversary card and a birthday card in this classic style.

My first card features the car and I decided to create a car with a difference. Much like we can create flowers in any color in card making, what is stopping us from doing the same with vehicles. I pulled out my pad of shimmer cardstock and created a teal car with a cream roof. Using metallic silver cardstock, I cut all the “chrome” parts of the car and used black and dark gray for the tires.

To complete this card, I embossed a piece of kraft cardstock with a radiating embossing folder and placed the car in the middle. To let the background be visible, I made a 5×7 card. The sentiment on the card was created with the sentiments die set from the Classic Road Legends collection which I cut out of white cardstock with a black shadow.

My second card is an A2 sized card and on here I used the Timeless Truck die set. I again used metallic silver cardstock for the chrome parts, black for the tires and use red for the body. I thought this just had to be red!!

I used two patterned papers for the background, choosing colors that let the red truck pop. I completed the card with a sentiment again cut from the Classic Sentiments die set. I love using white on black for sentiments as they pop off about any background.
