Hello Blogland friends. On this first Friday post of 2025, I want to share a project done with some stenciling and inks. You may have remembered my previous posts done with stencils and dies from the Waffle Flower Postage Collage collection. They came out with a lovely Postage Collage Pond Stencil in December and so here is my first project using it.
I used Bristol Smooth cardstock and the Waffle Flower double-sided shader brushes to ink the different layers of the stencil. The grip mat did a wonderful job of holding down the cardstock and the stencil to get perfect layering with nothing slipping around. I used my Memento dye inks in the various colors.
After the stenciling was completed, I added the first stencil back onto the image. This stencil covers up everything except the water. Using a retired Stampin’ Up stamp set that I recently found at a thrift store, I added “splatter” to the water. The stamp set has stamps representing different sized “splats” and this is a much better solution in my small RV Craft Room than creating splatter with the flicking of a brush. I was very pleased with the results here. It gives a bit of a look of dimension in the water.
Once all the inking was done, I cut the panel out with the coordinating postage collage die and added it to a piece of plaid patterned paper from the Waffle Flower Berry Sweet Gingham Paper Pad. I completed the card with a “sending hugs” sentiment from the Fluttering By combo set which I had stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
I have some more ideas to try with this stencil and look forward to when I have the time to do so. Thank you for visiting, see you next time.
