Spellbinders Season of Wonder for 3 quick and easy card creations

Happy Friday! Today I am here with three cards that I made with the new Spellbinders Season of Wonder collection. They sent me two products from this collection to work with, namely the Christmas Morn Nativity die set and the Christmas Blessings Sentiments stamp set. I love working with nativity scenes and I like to get a new one every year, so this was a privilege to work with this one this year.

The die set comes with the profile shape of the nativity scene and also the “shadow” shape. For my first card, I cut the scene from heavyweight black cardstock and the shadow from a red patterned paper. I added the manger scene to the patterned paper and then added the whole scene to a dark blue cardpanel to which I had blended an outer edge of Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. Using a stamp from the Christmas Blessings Sentiments stamp set, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and added it to the card front. I added the star cut from gold mirror cardstock.

My second card was inspired by a stained glass window effect with frosted glass. I cut the scene from a gray cardstock to give the look of pewter leading. I then cut the design two more times from white cardstock and glued all three layers together to give the design some dimension. Using the Radiant Burst Embossing Folder, I embossed the white cardpanel so that the middle of the burst was lined up with the star on the scene before applying it to the card front. I cut the design again from white glitter cardstock and then inlaid the glitter pieces into the spaces around the gray outline. I completed the card with a gold star and a sentiment from the stamp set.

My final card is a twofer from the previous one in that I added the outline from the cut I made from the white glitter cardstock. I added it to a patterned paper cardpanel and then completed the card with a die cut sentiment from the Handmade Sentiments die set. In keeping with the glitter on this card, I added a gold glitter cardstock star.

I will definitely be making more cards this year with this die set as I do enjoy a beautiful nativity scene. This one from the Spellbinders Season of Wonder collection is simple and yet makes a great statement as to the reason for celebrating Christmas.

  1. Three beautiful cards. The same scene but interpreted so differently. Each one is special in its own way, well done once again. Enjoy making many of these cards.
