I am back today with the May 2024 Sheetload of Cards and my take on the printable that Alicia from the Call Me {Crafty} Al Youtube Channel provided this month. I love the look of these cards with the strips around the panel in the middle. It was great to spend a little time browsing through my patterned papers and I found the sheet with the shells. That is what inspired these beach themed cards.
Seashells with May 2024 Sheetload of Cards
I found another sheet of paper in my stash that worked as a sort of sand element to add to the shells. I opted to use a darker teal cardstock from my stash for the strips to go around the center. Sometimes the ocean takes on a color similar to this when the water is cold and deep.
I had recently purchased the Waffle Flower Seashells Die Set and it arrived in time for me to use on the May 2024 Sheetload of Cards. I used a fan shell and cut all three out of a lighter teal cardstock. After inking the bottom end of each shell with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink, I added them the top, left corners of my cards.
Adding a sentiment to the corner
I completed the cards by using a “Hugs” sentiment cut from white cardstock with a black shadow. While I did consider using the same teal colors, I thought it got lost on the busy background. The white on black appealed to me more.
I enjoy making Sheetload of Cards and it is a good way in which to use up my 12×12 patterned paper that I received from a friend. I would recommend that you check it out if you are also hoarding patterned paper.

Such a lovely idea. I like the combination of the colours, the shells and the compliment in the corner. Keep going. 🙂
