Time for a new release over at Waffle Flower Crafts and today I am sharing the cards I made with my Waffle Flower Sneak Peek Club #3 For 2024. The subscription kit, which I got at the beginning of March, contains some items from the April release, thus the name “Sneak Peek kit”. This time the kit was all about wild flowers. If you are a regular reader, you know that I love florals.
Going wild with color
One of the products in the kit is the Waffle Flower Wild Flowers Stencil. It is a layered stencil that allows one to create a beautiful background of flowers and leaves. For my first card, used my Memento Dewdrop inks and created a very colorful background. I used orange, purple, pink, blue and yellow for the different flowers. I used a bright green for the foliage stencil. The Waffle Flower Grip Mat is perfect for stenciling as it holds the paper and the stencils in place.
To complete this card, I cut the background down to 4×5.25 inches and matted it with a dark blue cardpanel before adding it to a top-folding A2 notecard. Using the Waffle Flower Layered Daisy Die from a previous kit, I cut a mid-sized daisy from dark blue cardstock and the centre from orange cardstock and assembled the flower. I then used green cardstock for the leaves and I cut a stem using a die from a set in my stash. I completed the card by adding a sentiment from the Waffle Flower Small Sentiments Bloom Stamp Set stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with white powder. The sentiment strip is popped up on foam tape.
Adding foil to one stencil layer
For my second card, I used Distress Oxide inks to do the stenciling. Creating only blue and yellow flowers, the card is less vibrant than the first one. I added Deco Gel Duo paste through the foliage stencil. Once it was dry, I added silver toner foil with my Minc Machine. This gives the card a lot of shine.
I again used the Waffle Flower Layered Daisy Die to create a focal flower for this card in yellow cardstock with a black center. The stem and the leaves are cut from holographic cardstock. I liked the slight difference against the silver foiling better than using silver cardstock. The cardpanel is black this time and so is the sentiment strip, showing off the same sentiment from the Waffle Flower Small Sentiments Bloom Stamp Set white heat embossed onto it. This is also a top-folding A2 notecard.
Sort of monochrome
My final card made with the Waffle Flower Sneak Peek Club #3 For 2024 is quite pink. Again used Memento Dewdrop Inks, I stenciled the flowers in shades of pink and the foliage in gray. I had a good match of cardstock in my stash to the dark pink flowers and used that for the matte, the focal daisy and the sentiment strip. I cut the leaves and the stem from gray cardstock and inked the edges of the leave with a dark gray ink.
