Beautiful Hugs with Waffle Flower Crafts Bokeh Hearts

Today, I’m excited to showcase a heartfelt card featuring products from Waffle Flower Crafts. While originally intended as a handmade Valentine’s Day card, I believe cards like these can convey warmth and affection on any occasion when the sentiment calls for it.

To create this card, I utilized the Waffle Flower Crafts Bokeh Heart stencil along with red Memento Love Letter ink to ink the hearts onto the stencil. Afterward, I subtly shifted the stencil and used pink Memento Rose Bud ink to add more hearts. To enhance the background, I cleaned the stencil thoroughly and inverted it, applying light pink Memento Angel Pink ink to create faint hearts. The panel was then trimmed down to 4×5.25 inches for a polished finish.

To add a striking accent, I incorporated red foil cardstock. Cutting it into a card panel sized at 4.25×5.5 inches, I adhered it to a top-folding white notecard, layering the stenciled panel on top. The contrast between the matte cardstock with the hearts and the shiny foil panel adds dimension and visual interest to the card design.

Completing the card, I cut the large “hugs” sentiment using the Waffle Flower Crafts Oversized Hugs Print die, also from the red foil cardstock. The die set includes a shadow die, which I cut from vellum to subtly mute the background around the word “hugs” without obstructing it entirely. Additionally, I paired the prominent main sentiment with a smaller black and white sub-sentiment for added charm and contrast.
