On the road

Note: The Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog has a current DT Call. Please head here for more information. This is a great team to be on. If you are looking for another DT position, do apply.

This is my DT inspiration for the November Crafts Galore Encore challenge. Our sponsor this month is Beccy’s Place and I got to work with this image from the Road Trip digital stamp set. Since we are now RV’ing, this image spoke to me.

I sized the image for a landscape card in Silhouette Studio and then printed it out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper and colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I once again took inspiration from a color combo in my new book called Practical Color Combinations. When I had completed the image, I returned the page to the Silhouette to cut it out and also create a shadow for it, which I cut out of brown cardstock.

I had the perfect paper in my stash – a piece of paper with a map on it. The paper pack also had a page with words on it, from which I cut my sentiment. I ran a black marker along the end of the cutout digi and then adhered it to the shadow piece. I added it to the patterned paper panel with foam tape and then added the cardpanel to a cardbase.

I completed the card by adding the strip that I can cut from the paper to make the sentiment.
The Crafts Galore Encore Challenge is a monthly challenge and the theme is always Anything Goes. We look forward to seeing your projects there.

  1. Hi Monica A great card for the traveler. I look at your map and see Europe, but I don't see Poland there. Is this a card from the partitions when Poland was under the occupation of three countries? It was a very sad period in the history of our country.

  3. A wonderful card, Monica – it looks from the map as if you're heading towards the UK – how good would that be?
Lovely colouring of your caravan/traveller. I hope the sentiment is exactly what you are currently doing! Thanks for advertising the DT Call. xx
