It is Friday again and October is racing by! Here I am with my second post for the month and today I have some projects I made for Spellbinders to show you. The release is not that new anymore because it launched while I was away, but I am catching up. While it is still warm here in Arizona, snowflakes are fun to work with! The die sets I received are from the new Lisa Horton Snowflakes collection. I received the Snowflake Wreath, Snowflake Background and Gift Boxes and Bags die sets.

My first project uses the Snowflake Wreath. It is a lovely circle that makes a perfect statement piece on a 5 x 7 card. I opted to make a monochromatic blue card and used Spellbinders ColorWheel cardstock in shades of blue for the snowflake wreath. I cut the additional snowflakes from the glitter paper in the Antique Treasured cardstock pack and arranged them on the right-hand side of the wreath.

The card also features the classic mouse from the Steamboat Willie Duo die set, along with the Christmas Embellishments Add-On die set, using shades of blue for both. I completed the card with a “Happy Holidays” sentiment from the Handmade Sentiments die set, which is now retired.

The second card follows a similar idea but uses the Snowflake Background die. I used shades of pink for this one and cut the centre out of a 5 x 7 panel with the die. I then inlaid the white cardstock background into the panel and placed it on a white card base. I added the lady mouse from the Steamboat Willie Duo set, along with her Christmas Embellishments Add-On items.

To complete the card, I added three glittery snowflakes using the individual dies from the Snowflake Wreath set and paper from the Antique Treasured cardstock pack. The sentiment is also from the now-retired Handmade Sentiments die set, but any sentiment set you have would work well here.

My final card is completely different. Using the Gift Boxes and Bags die set from this same collection, I cut the pieces from different colours of cardstock. I used the packaging as my inspiration for the colours and arranged the items along the bottom of my top-folding 5 x 7 card. I layered some panels together on the front of the card and added a sentiment from another retired sentiment set called Christmas Mix & Match.

Lovely to watch another one of your projects. I like what you created this time, colours, mice and all. The glittery snowflakes are also very effective; and mouse cards are always special. 🙂
The third card is also interesting. I like the different gift boxes/ bags. Lovely colours too.
And the sentiments are very nice for all of them.
Thank you for taking us along on your creative journey. 🙂
