Four ideas to make with the new Kinda Cute releases

Happy Friday blogland friends. Today I am back to introduce the new release from Kinda Cute. It is made up of two sweet collections of digital stamps—a chess piece set and a kangaroo set. There are also coordinating sentiments available.

My first option using the kangaroo set by Kinda Cute

My first card uses one of the new Kinda Cute kangaroo digis. I used Silhouette Studio to size the kangaroo for a 5×7 card and then cut it out on my Cameo. I colored the kangaroo and her baby with Copic markers, then ran a black Tombow marker along the edges to neaten the cuts. Using a cute Spellbinders embossing folder, I created a background in light blue and added die-cut letters to spell the word “BOY”. I cut another kangaroo shape out of black cardstock and backed the digi with it for some stability. I completed the card by adding a bow to both mom and baby.

A Procreate creation creating a chess board with the Kinda Cute chess digital stamp set.

My second Kinda Cute project is completely digital. I created the chess board in Procreate on my iPad and arranged the different chess piece digis on it, coloring one set a darker yellow than the others. I placed one pawn slightly out of the lineup and colored him purple. I added a sentiment from the chess piece sentiment set and then printed the design onto a light green 5×7 card panel. Once printed, I added Wink of Stella to the two squares and the purple pawn, then outlined him with a white gel pen.

Another Kinda Cute kangaroo card, this time for a girl

The third card is a girly version of my first card. I used the same kangaroo digi, but I flipped her horizontally. That is the great thing about digital stamps—they can be flipped and sized to suit the project. I again used the Spellbinders embossing folder for the background, added the word “GIRL” and added die-cut bows to mom and baby.

My final card using both new Kinda Cute release sets together.

My final Kinda Cute card for today combines both sets. I used the king and queen chess pieces with eyes from the chess set, along with the baby kangaroo from the kangaroo set. I cut all the stamps out on my Cameo as well as the shapes again from black cardstock. The digis were colored with Copic markers and edged with a black Tombow marker. I used a different embossing folder on gray cardstock for a card panel and completed the card with a sentiment from the kangaroo sentiment set.

If you have followed me for a while, you will know that I love both papercrafting and digital art and that I especially love to combine the two. I used some of Canva’s new tools to place my cards into themed backgrounds, and that was a lot of fun too. I would invite you to visit Patricia’s website at Kinda Cute and check out her digital stamps. They are all really cute and perfect for a variety of papercrafting projects! I will see you next week.
