Welcome to the February 2025 Sheetload of Cards! I’m excited to share this first card sketch of the year with you, which I’ve turned into a collection of birthday cards for a friend who needs to refresh their stash.

The February 2025 Sheetload of Cards design began with a happy moment of paper hunting. After diving into my box of papers, I found two perfectly coordinating patterns – a cheerful polka dot and a lovely sunflower design. A forgotten treasure of yellow textured cardstock appeared during my search, making the perfect mat layer. Isn’t it wonderful when you rediscover supplies you’d tucked away?
Working with the February 2025 Sheetload of Cards sketch, I assembled the layers using Scrappy Tape, which is always such a therapeutic part of my crafting process. The real creative journey began when I searched for the perfect stamps to complement my Gummiapan “Happy Birthday” sentiment die. A small Altenew potted plant stamp caught my eye, promising to create just the right focal point for these birthday cards.

To create my design, I first stamped the plant and positioned the die cut next to it. Using my PixScan mat, I captured a photo and brought it into Silhouette Studio, where I could create the perfect cut line around my stamp and die cut combination. After cutting six shapes, I brought each one to life with my Copic markers. The flowers bloomed in E35 and Y17, while the foliage came alive with YG67 and YG17. The pots took shape in shades of B24 and B32, with finishing touches of silver and red gel pen adding a sweet heart detail.

This February 2025 Sheetload project gave me valuable practice with my Copic markers, which I’m still mastering. I added the die cut sentiment, cut from black shimmer cardstock, to each of the shapes and added them to the cards. Thank you for joining me today.
