I know that it is not Friday today, but I have a number of projects to share with you this month, so some weeks will have an additional posting day. Spellbinders has a new collection called Candy Christmas. It is all about gingerbread, and they sent me the Gingerbread Train and the Gingerbread Plane & Banners die sets to create with.

My first card features the plane done in more traditional colors. I used kraft cardstock for the gingerbread base and a shade of pink for the frosting as well as the banner. A lighter shade of pink created the perfect clouds. Using a cloud stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink, I created a cloudy sky on a 6.75 x 4.75 inch card panel, which I then adhered to the 7 x 5 card base before arranging my plane, banner, and clouds onto it.

My second card brings in some non-traditional colors. I created two planes using kraft and shades of teal cardstock and one in pearlized cardstock. After using the stencil again with gray dye ink to create the clouds, I arranged the three planes to fly in formation, the middle one made from the pearlized cardstock towing the banner.
My final card features the train. This die set contains thirty dies! The train is so much fun to make as it has lots of detail and comes to life right under your hands. I made the locomotive and the two cars with their different desserts on them. The train is well suited for a slimline card when adding the two cars behind the train. I was making a 7 x 5 inch card, so I opted to go with a train yard look and have neither car hooked to the locomotive.

Working on a 6.75 x 4.75 card panel, I inked the background with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and added strips of gray cardstock to resemble the train tracks in the yard. The “smoky” sentiment is made from the clouds in the Gingerbread Plane & Banners die set with some partial die cutting.

The Spellbinders Candy Christmas collection features more die sets as well as papers and printed die cuts. It’s a great collection to make very sweet holiday cards. Thank you for visiting with me. I will see you next time.

Lovely creations again. The sentiments are sweet. Loving the colour scheme of the second card.
And I wish all these ginger bread things would be edible… makes me hungry. All this is sweet in more than one way… 🙂
