Felt & Stitch Beehive on a chocolate jar for a sweet treat

Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a bit of a different project to show you. Spellbinders has a new Summer Felt & Stitch release and they sent me two die sets from it to create with. Today I am showing you the sweet beehive. The die set comes with the hive, a bee and various flowers.

Felt & Stitch Beehive added to the front of a jar

You may remember the card I made some time ago when I did not get to visit my friend. Well now the visit happened I used the die set to make a sleeve for a jar with the beehive on one side and her initial on the other. I found a square jar at the dollar store. I measured felt to make a wrap around it.

Using the back of the beehive, I stitched in onto the wrap so that I had it in the correct position on the jar. I then decorated the front of the beehive before adding it to the back part. I added the door, positioned the little bee and added some flowers and leaves. It was a lot of fun decorating the beehive.

Once it was completed, I stitched the front to the back, sandwiching two pieces of cotton batting between them. This helped add a bit of puffiness to the beehive. Using the pinks that I had used for the flowers, it cut the letter “k” using the Spellbinders Stitched Alphabet die. I stitched the letter with white thread and adhered it with fabric glue to the opposite side of the jar wrapper to the beehive.

And just for fun, here is another project that I have been enjoying lately. I have been making our own peanut butter from scratch with organic peanuts. I recently made a bottle as a gift and used Canva to create a quick label for it.

Not a Felt & Stitch Beehive project, but some homemade peanut butter
