Happy Friday! Today I am here with my monthly Shop my Stash post and the project I am using today is the Sizzix Geo Floral Frames die set. I purchased this die set from Hobby Lobby when they drastically reduced the prices of all their die sets in a clearance effort and have never got to use it. So now was the time. I have some more dies from that sale that will most likely come up in the future in this series.
I browsed my Color Catalog to look for a color palette to use for this project and decided on palette #88. For my first card, I cut the large rectangular frames in the set from silver metallic cardstock. I opted to use silver instead of the palette’s gray. I used the teal color for the leaves and incorporated the two pinks into the flowers. Using the Spellbinders Stylish ovals die set, I cut a background element to place between the frames and the card panel. For both my cards, I cut a card panel to 4×5.25 inches and dry embossed them with a Darice embossing folder from my stash.
I added a bit of ink blending to the centers of the flowers before adding the flower center. I arranged the floral compositions into the two corners of the card, popping one of the flowers up with foam tape. The sentiment is made with a combination of a scripty alphabet die set from my stash and the Spellbinders Tinsel Time die set (now retired).
My second card follows the same pattern with some exceptions. I used the Spellbinders Emerald Cut Labels and Tag die set for the background element. I used the 6-sided polygon from the Sizzix Geo Floral Frames die set in the teal color and cut the leaves for the floral sprays from the silver. I again inked the flower centers and arranged the flowers and the silver leaves into two floral compositions for the corners of the card. The sentiment was created in the same way as the previous card.
Thank you for visiting with me again this week. I look forward to seeing you here next week.
