The Waffle Flower Sneak Peek Club #4, which I got in April, is all about the beach. It includes the Sea Foam Stencil, the Birthday Wishes Stamp Set and the Beach Umbrella Die-n-stencil set. The inspiration photos done by Waffle Flower’s Galina inspired me to create two beach scenes with an aerial perspective. My third card is quite different and uses a die set from Brutus Monroe that I have had for a while and still needed to be used. I have made many cards using previous Waffle Flower Sneak Peek Clubs. They are a lot of fun.
Using all items from the Waffle Flower Sneak Peek Club #4
My first and second cards have a bit of a twofer element to them. I cut one cardstock panel at 4×5.25 and using the Sea Foam Stencil, I added some color. I used two shades of blue, adding the darker one first then turning the stencil over and adding the lighter one. This stencil does a great job of giving a mottled water look.
Then using Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide Ink, I inked another card panel for the beach. Once done, I used water and some other darker ink colors to flick splatters onto the inked panel to give the look of sand. I tore the blue stenciled panel so that there was a torn white edge, giving the impression of the wedge of the wave. I added the “sea” to the “beach” panel. Using the Beach Umbrella Die-n-stencil set I created a large, brightly colored sun umbrella and added it to the bottom right hand corner. I added the card panel to a top-folding, landscape A2 sized card and completed the card with a sentiment from the Birthday Wishes Stamp Set stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Another day at the beach
My second beach card is similar to the first one, except that the umbrella is smaller and is a teal and white design. The second half of the stenciled panel became another sea section and I created a second panel of “sand” and glued them together. I created the umbrella and this one is the middle of the three sizes that come in the set. I added the umbrella to the bottom left hand corner of the card and stamped a different sentiment from the Birthday Wishes Stamp Set on the card.
Going magical for the last card
My last card uses the Sea Foam Stencil in a single layer only. I used Memento Rose Bud ink to ink through the stencil. Once done, I blended some additional ink to the edges of my magical background. Using a Brutus Monroe die set that I have had for a long time, I cut the mermaid from different colors of cardstock, using purple glitter cardstock for her tail and crown. I added the assembled mermaid to the center of my cardpanel which had been adhered to a side-folding notecard. I completed the card with a preprinted sentiment from the Subsentiments Shore Diecut, which is also in the Waffle Flower Sneak Peek Club #4.
