Pears in a vase

Today I am here playing in the Outlawz Progessive Challenge. It is fun to play again from the challenge side. This month the sponsor is Jan’s Digistamps and the image is Fall Pears. I had completed my project a few days ago, but my normal stony backdrop for taking the pictures was nowhere to be seen! Yes, we had a decent layer of snow – I had to make a snowman (see pic below). We got quite a lot more snow before my stones returned.

I decided to make this a one layer digital composition with hand coloring. I placed the digi on a 4.25×5.5 rectangle in Silhouette Studio and then created an offset to create the shadow. I then added some plaid digital paper into the rectangle and added another layer along the bottom that I filled with wood grain and placed it behind the digi so it looked like a table. The sentiment also comes from Jan’s Digistamps and I placed that on my design with a white rectangle behind it with rounded corners. Another rectangle that I made grey was placed behind the sentiment and offset a bit to give a shadow look.

Once I liked my design I printed it out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper and colored the digi with my Prismacolor Colored pencils. When the coloring was done, I cut the rectangle out with a Hero Arts die and adhered it to a blue notecard.

The Outlawz Progressive Challenge is a lot of fun. The images are from different sponsors every month.
And here my snowman!

  3. Wow, I'm awed by all the Silhouette can do, is it a Cameo? I see several people using that model. It "cuts out" your image as well as a die would! Very clever digi skills! Amazing! And what a cute snowman, hope you enjoyed your snow, XOXO

  4. I was sure it was a layered card, but when I read the description, I was very surprised. But it's not a problem for you to put two digi images together. i love your pears and the vase is stunning!
