Hello Blogland Friends! It is Friday again and today I am sharing my project for the next challenge with my crafty friend, BożenA. It was her turn to nominate the topic and she chose a technique which calls for stamping on both sides of vellum.
She also drew her inspiration from Chrissie Stokes, more particularly this video. I did do a bit of a twist on the technique in the manner of execution, but did stay true to method. I have a stamp set that BożenA had sent me and I thought this would be the perfect set for this technique. I stamped the outline image on the front of the vellum with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it in white. I used a larger piece of vellum in the event of some mishaps, that I still would have had a piece to use for my card.
I then used Memento Dandelion ink to stamp the sketchy fill of the flowers on the back of the vellum. I did offset the stamping a bit to accentuate the sketch look. With Memento Cottage Ivy ink, I then stamped some leaf images in a random fashion.
Since the technique worked rather well, I was able to use the whole piece and so I cut it in half and made two cards – one on a light green cardbase and one on a light purple cardbase. I set the vellum pieces behind a white frame to help secure them to the cardbase and added tiny dots of liquid glue behind the heat embossing.
I completed the cards with some sentiments that I had drawn on my Cameo with a glaze pen, cut out and then foiled with the laminator.
I am excited to see what BożenA has made with this technique that was her suggestion. Please visit her blog post and leave a comment for her while you are there.

Spectacular!! I love how you used this set of stamps, you did it brilliantly, Monica. And on top of that you have two beautiful cards. I'm very impressed because your innovation of technique worked really great. Thank you for this challenge, thanks to you I keep reaching for new techniques. I probably wouldn't have been able to do it without you.
I'm a great admirer of Chrissie and to see the technique as you have done it, I'm thrilled Monica. Your cards do great justice to Chrissie. Both gorgeous and with a lovely colour mix on both, and with your wonderful sentiments. Just perfect.
Beautiful cards. I love seeing all the different techniques you are using. Always nice to see your challenges with BożenA.
