Hello Blogland friends! Today I am here with a fiber arts project to show you. I recently discovered Scrub-Ology yarn at Hobby Lobby while looking around there with a friend and decided it needed a try — especially since the yarn was on sale. I opted for the teal color and purchased two balls. It is also available in red, yellow and orange.
My first project was testing the Scrub-Ology yarn with two kitchen scrubbies. I made a smaller one and then a larger one. I gave one to my Mom and one to a friend and we were amazed at how well they worked on the insides of pots.
I thought that a shower loofah would also work well with this yarn. It certainly has an exfoliating quality, so I made a shower mitten. I am excited to try it out, but that will happen when I get back home.
After working with this yarn for the scrubbies and the loofah mitten, I thought that smaller baskets would work well with this yarn too. And so I made a small one and a larger one. I completed the baskets by gluing a string of flowers around each one. The yarn is stiff enough to keep the sides from flopping and the little baskets are very usable.
I do enjoy working with yarns and fabrics too and testing out this Scrub-Ology yarn was a fun project. I hope you enjoyed seeing this different sort of project too. See you next week.
