Happy Friday and today I have another project that I have done for Spellbinders. I am using the new Spellbinders Space Adventure collection to create a vibrant and quirky birthday card. I decided to take my inspiration for the space ship from the keyboard emoji rocket.

The “To the Moon” die set contains the dies to cut the various layers of the rocket as well as stars and the moon. The “Space Greetings” die set, also from the Spellbinders Space Adventure collection, has a number of space themed greetings. Each of the words has a shadow die to go with it and I love that.

The background of my card is ink blended. I used Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks blended with a blending brush. I dried the inks with my heat tool and then added white embossing powder before it was completely dry. Of course this card had to have some “space dust” on it! Once done, I added the background to a top-folding A2 sized notecard.
Using my Copic markers, I added some shading to the moon and the stars. I glued the rocket to the card where I had left the ink lighter and then added the other space elements around it. I completed the card with three words from the Space Greetings die set and a strip that I made on my Dymo label maker. I so love that retro look that the label maker provides.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I made today with the Spellbinders Space Adventure collection. Thank you for visiting and I will see you next week again.

Gorgeous card, lovely project. The background looks stunning and the shadow die for the words works so well. And that label is so effective. Another wonderful project. 🙂
