Flying past the clouds to bring greetings

Today I am here with two cards that I made sort of like a twofer! The little airplanes are opposite of each other in their color schemes and so I cut one in the red and one in the yellow and swapped out the parts, adding some silver and black for the details. This Flyby Greetings dies set is super cute and so I had to grab it during one of my shopping visits to the Spellbinders shop.

The first card is a yellow plane with red accents. I added some silver to it for the wing struts and the propeller and some black for the tires. The die cut pieces are easy to put together and I do love the little airplanes that come alive on the desk during the process.

First this card, I used my cloud stencil from Lawn Fawn (linked below) and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink and finger daubers to create the background for this plane directly on the cardbase. I love the way in which one can create various cloud formations with the stencil and just some ink. I added the airplane to the clouds and used the Happy Birthday sentiment banner that comes in the set.

For my second card, I used the red pieces and the yellow accents and again used silver for the struts and propeller and black for the tires. For this card I used a cloudy embossing folder from my stash and embossed a cardpanel that measures 4×5.25 inches which allowed for a small border around the edge.

I added the airplane to the cardpanel and used the “You Did It” sentiment from the die set for this banner. There is a third sentiment in the set and some cloud dies, which I did not use this time.

I love this sweet little airplane and it is really useful for any occasion from birthday to friendship.
