It is the first day of March and so I am sharing my DT project for the new Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge. For this round I chose the column “I,” which meant I had to make a Christmas card in pink and use smooshing and stamping.

If you have been here for any length of time, you will know that I love to make pink Christmas cards. This time I decided to go to town with the ink smooshing and use the technique to create the background. I cut a piece of watercolor cardstock to 4.75 x 6.75 inches and pressed it into Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink that I had applied to my glass mat. Drying the ink between layers gave me some lovely variations in tone.

I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and set the panel aside to dry while I worked on the focal point. With the new Spellbinders Cool It Cookie Rack die set and Spellbinders cardstock, I created a golden rack and some round cookies topped with pink frosting. Pink poinsettias from the Christmas Blooms die set are tucked in between the cookies. To add the sparkle mentioned in the sentiment, I die cut a spatula from glitter gold cardstock with a pink handle using the Fluff, Frost & Roll die set.

You really went to town with pink here – looks great. The cookies, poinsettia, spatula, etc. are just too sweet. And a lovely little sentiment to go with it. I am always amazed about your ideas. I always enjoy looking every week. 🙂
