Christmas Bingo Challenge Card Making with Beautiful Stitching

It is September 1 and time for my Christmas Bingo Challenge Card Making for the Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge blog. This is a challenge that runs every second month and requires that you use the Bingo card for the challenge. Unlike traditional bingo, you need to choose one of the columns only. At least any three items from the column can be used on your project.

For my Design Team project, I used column I, and I made use of the four items that are specified, namely, stitching, die cuts, gold and stamped image. I had this Spellbinders Stitched Petal Diamond background die for a while and had not yet got to use it. So I thought this would be the perfect time to try it out. I cut the background twice and glued the two pieces together to give me a stronger piece of cardstock to stitch on.

I stitched the majority of the card in gold metallic thread – to meet the gold requirement of the challenge. I added a corner of red metallic and a corner of green metallic. This was a relaxing exercise to do on the couch at night while chatting to hubby. Once I completed the stitching, I added the panel to a white note card with foam tape. I also added a little sentiment from the Spellbinders Handmade Sentiments die set as I did not want to cover up my stitching. The sentiment and the background covered the die cuts requirement.

Using an old Kaisercraft stamp set that I have in my stash, I stamped three different little Christmas trees in green. I cut them out in little rectangles and arranged them on the front of my card. This took care of the stamped image requirement.

I hope you will come and join us at the Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenge. You have plenty of time as the challenge runs for two months and is now for any occasion, not just Christmas.

  1. Monica, this is such a beautiful card! I too used stitching in my BINGO challenge, but traditional on fabric. I love to stitch but have never done so on paper. I’ve seen these dies and they have intrigued me. I love the tip on cutting them twice and gluing them together for a stronger background. You did a great job hitting all of the elements too! Great inspiration! 🥰
