Today I am posting a project I made to join in the Altenew Monthly challenge as the inspiration picture really spoke to me this month. I have added it to the blog post so you can see the starting point of this project. I decided to go with a window on my card as this was the point that I found inspiring.
I opted to make this a 5×7 card so that I had enough space to create the vine going up one side. I created a cardpanel out of light cream cardstock and ran it through an embossing folder to provide a bit of subtle texture to the areas that my design was not going to be covering up.
I created the window in Silhouette Studio and cut it out with my Cameo. I inked the edges of the top layer of the window with Distress Oxide ink to give it some dimension. I assembled the window and popped it up with foam tape so that I could put a vellum “curtain” behind it. I added folds to the vellum and ran it through an embossing folder with a small pattern. Here is a close up of the window with its curtain.
I used a Honey Bee Stamps die to cut the “wooden” window box out of watercolor paper. I then also cut an array of flowers and leaves from the Altenew Craft a Flower Morning Glory die set, also out of watercolor paper. I then used my Arteza Brush pens to color the leaves, flowers and window box. Once everything was dry, I assembled the flowers and arranged them up the right side of the window, coming out of the window box.
I added a sentiment cut out of white cardstock using another Altenew die set to the window box and I called the project complete.
Here is the picture and color scheme that marks the inspiration for this challenge. Click/tap to see the challenge.

I love the intricate flowers. Beautifully done. A window always gives so much freedom and openess. Well done.
I am so happy to have the time to visit blogs again. Home schooling is officially over! This card is simply gorgeous! Beautiful work. I have bought a couple of Altenew sets, but am somewhat intimidated to try them. I have about 100 things I want to do first.
