Start of a new month and it is time for the new Progressive Challenge at Outlawz. This month our sponsor is Jan’s Digistamps and the image is from the Signs of Autumn digi set.
I had recently seen a triangular background like this on Facebook and so I wanted to try it out. I decided this image was perfect for this. I sized the image in Silhouette Studio and printed it out on Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper. I returned the printout to the Silhouette and cut it out. I cut a shadow using an offset of the original digi cut file out of dark brown cardstock. The sentiment is also from the digi set. I printed it onto white cardstock and cut it with a Hero Arts oval die.
Because of the rather busy background with the plaid paper, the marbled paper and cardstock strips, I opted to only color three of the leaves. I used my gel pens for the three colors. After gluing the cut out digi to the shadow, I adhered it to the card with foam tape to provide a bit of dimension.
Come and join us at the Progressive Challenge at Outlawz. It is fun to see all the projects and interpretations done with the same image.

What a lovely way of using the Spotlight Technique in your wonderful Autumnal card! Of course you know we are far from thinking Fall here in your "home state". Unusually rainy and ultra humid – definitely not even hinting of fall LOL but we are enjoying the bright sunshine between showers and the beauty of lushness. Wishing you a great hump day, Cheryl! xx
Brilliantly designed card loving the colours and your creativity. x
wahhhhh, my fingers were typing Cheryl while my mind was thinking Monica! Sob! I'm so sorry, Monica – what can I say – my mind is in autopilot. xx
Great fall card, Monica. The decision to color only 3 leaves out of the entire leaf bouquet is perfect. This means that the card has not been reloaded. I love the arrangement of triangles on your card.
hugs,

Fabulous card, Monica, and I adore the large plaid paper you chose!
Heyhey Monica! You did such a good job with this image and papers. I just now printed mine out and am going to do mine in amber tones with a lil purple. I'm beginning to like pre-colored images – ack! Nooooo! haha Stay cool! XXO
