Tulips

As promised, I am back again with another card made with a Craft-A-Flower die set from Altenew. This time it is tulips.

I cut the three layers of the three flowers that come in the die set out from orange, bright yellow and a pale yellow cardstock from my stash. I glued the pieces together with liquid glue to allow myself a bit of wiggle room. However, the pieces are not complicated to assemble. I cut the stems and leaves from two shades of green cardstock.
Using a black cardbase, I arranged the tulip bouquet so that it would fit on the card and glued it together. I added a piece of plaid paper to the left side of the card and trimmed it with a small piece of silver foil cardstock to the left. Using alphabet dies from my stash, I cut out the word “love” in black and silver foil cardstock after applying the Stick It adhesive to the back of the cardstock.
The Stick It adhesive is great because it has a light tack until you press it down firmly. So you can lay something down and make sure it is correct before pressing it down firmly to make the join permanent.
I added the sentiment onto the panel with the letters slightly offset so that the black cast a shadow for the silver. I then glued the foliage directly to the card, but popped the flower heads up with foam tape. I completed the card with three gems from my stash. I love the bright flowers against that black background.

  1. Hi, Monica! Your gloriously sunshiny tulips look so dramatic against the classic black background! Your color choices are beautiful, and so is your card! Thanks for sharing! xx

  2. The tulips are just gorgeous. I hope you're tolerating the AZ heat. IU cannot wait for monsoon season to be over. I hate the humidity. Our evaporative cooler does not work well in humidity!

  3. WOW !! Your tulips look stunning, Monica. Great color selection, it gives a great 3D effect. The black background perfectly contrasts with these beautiful flowers
    xx
