A color challenge

Today’s post is a fun project with a difference. I am Guest Designing this month for the Colour Challenge at Outlawz. The challenges last for a fortnight and this month the sponsor is Gerda Steiner Designs and I got to work with this cute digi.

This is the inspiration photo for this time’s color challenge. You need to use the beige in your project and two other colors of your choice from the image. Then you also need to add a twist  and let us know what the twist is. I used the being, the orange/yellow and the blue and my twist is ink blending.

I printed my image out onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I then fussy cut the image and ran a black marker along the cut out edge. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4×5.25 inches and masked off a space at the bottom with Post-it Tape. I inked the sun and sky in the chosen colors with my Memento Dew Drop inks and an ink blending tool.
Once the ink was dry, I added the panel to a dark blue cardbase. I adhered the cut out digi and stamped the sentiment using a stamp from the Concord & 9th Hi There Bear stampset and Versafine Onyx Black ink. For good measure, I cut out three little flowers from a previous Spellbinders Small die of the month set in orange and yellow and added them to the grass.
I hope you will join us in the challenge. We would love to see your interpretations of our Colour Challenge image.
