I am back today with a second card. I have participated in the Progressive Challenge over at Outlawz every month since I discovered it. It has been a lot of fun. This month the sponsor is Oddball Art Stamps and Sorry Sally is the image. She arrived in my email inbox on April 1 and I thought she would make a perfect Miss You card.
I printed her out on Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I then determined where on the card I wanted her to peek out at and cut a heart shape into the card panel. I adhered her behind the heart shape and stamped the sentiment next to her in the heart with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
While I purposely left the rest of the card completely plain so that the whole focus would be on Sally, I felt her heart window needed a frame. I cut around the die before cutting it out and so creating a very thin purple frame to add to the window in the green cardstock. I then glued the whole panel onto a top folding white notecard.

Monica, I love-love-love this card! You captured the sad look on her face with your sentiment! I think it's a wonderful card! And a great idea to use a simple format for your card design. It certainly does make the image stand out along with the Miss You theme!
Amazing coloring on her skin and hair…beautiful. Love the simplicity of design. Thanks for joining us at QKR this week.

I came over to your blog to leave my comment, Monica, and I adore what you've done with the image! What a great idea to focus on the face. Fab coloring and I love the heart shape. It almost looks like an aperture in the card front. Well done!
