White on white

Happy Friday to all my friends in blogland. It has been so much fun meeting new crafty friends and looking at all your wonderful makes.
Today I have another card that features some work done with my Silhouette machine. I had this background called “wildflower frame” by Teresa Collins that I had got from the Silhouette store eons ago and have never used. I adapted it to fit my 5.5×5.5 inch card and cut it out of white cardstock. I then glued it (which was quite a mission I might tell you) to a white cardbase to provide a delicately textured background. But I think it was well worth the effort

Also through the Silhouette Studio software, I printed this sweet Conie Fong image called Bella with Bouquet using the print and cut feature of the software so that I could size her correctly to pop off the page, but not cover my entire background. I printed her onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored the bear with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I colored the flowers and the ribbon with glitter gel pens as I wanted them to sparkle. In real life they do, pity the camera does not do it justice. I glued her to the bottom left hand corner of my card.

I cut the sentiment with a die from my stash. I cut it one time out of black glitter cardstock and twice out of white cardstock and glued them on top of each other to make the sentiment pop off the card.

I am so glad I have rediscovered my Silhouette machine. The studio software makes planning out a card so much fun and then being able to cut the elements to the correct size.

  1. Hello Monica: I just saw your comment with the link to the ballerina shoes on my blog. I Google it and it's there, on the company's DANCE page, scrolling a bit down, oh my gosh!!! thank you, thank you so much!!
I bought it so many years ago that I just forgot where it came from.
