I chose to work with the rocker from the Gran’s Chair set. My concept changed from choice to implementation and so the card became a sympathy card. While coloring the basket I thought the empty chair lent itself well in that direction.
I colored the hat and the basket of flowers with my Prismacolor colored pencils. But I colored the chair with metallic gel pens. In real life the chair sparkles, just as memories of that special person that once sat in it would.
I trimmed the panel down and cut the bottom at an angle with a edge die. The sentiments are from the Stampabilities Card Phrases and the Power Poppy Daffodils stampsets. I stamped them in Versamark ink and embossed with Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder.
I adhered the panel to a card panel cut from patterned paper that I had in my stash and adhered that in turn to my cardbase.

A very dignified sympathy card. The wonderfully coloured empty chair is a perfect symbol xx
Gorgeous card, Monica and so beautifully coloured. I love what you say about the empty chair and sparkling memories! I find sympathy cards so difficult to make, but this one is perfect – it's sweet and compassionate. A lovely design! x
Toll gemacht.
Dankeschön für die Teilnahme bei der Stempelsonne.

What a fantastic card you have made that fits in well with the Colour Crazy Challenge this week. It's amazing how our cards can be one thing in our mind but what they actually turn out to be is totally different. This image works perfectly as a sympathy card. Thank you for entering and best wishes in the draw. Kym (Colour Crazy Challenge Design Team Member).
