Pretty in Pink

Time for another new challenge over at the Cute ‘N Crafty Christmas Challenge blog. This is the place to share your Christmas/Winter themed creations. This fortnight our sponsor is Skeepski Designs and I am working with the image called Huddle.

I printed the image out onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored the penguins with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I decided that penguins did not necessarily need to wear black jackets, they could choose to wear pink ones too. All the adults got either purple or teal accessories and the one smaller one got his cap and scarf in a unique color.

I recently won some stamps as a first prize in a challenge and one of them is this gingham background stamp. So I had to try it out. I stamped it with Rose Bud Memento ink onto a card panel and adhered it to my cardfront. I then added my focal image on the lower end of the card and framed both sides with a thin strip each of purple and teal cardstock.

I completed the card by stamping the sentiment with Versamark ink and embossing it with purple embossing powder. I love these little guys and look forward to seeing your Christmas/Winter creations over at the Cute ‘N Crafty Christmas Challenge blog.
