Flowery ATCoins

Today I wish to share my DT final project for the World Wide Design Team Challenge blog. I decided that for this project I would show you that Julia Spiri has some beautiful collage art elements in her store and I am working with Watercolor Peonies clipart.

In order to use all the beautiful elements that come in the set, I opted to make another set of ATCoins. I love flowers and it was not hard to find sayings to complement the flowers. Using Silhouette Studio, I created seven 2.5 inch circles on a sheet and filled each one with one of the papers that Julia gave out to her VIP club members some time ago. I lowered the opacity of the front of the coins so that the peonies, feathers and leaves would show up well against the background.

Using the various elements that come in the set, I arranged the flowers in the circles that were to be the fronts of the coins. Once the arrangements were to my liking, I found sayings that complemented the arrangements and added them to the coins. I then printed the front and the back onto white cardstock and once I was sure that all cutlines except the outer circles were switched off, I then sent the printouts to the Silhouette for cutting. I also cut another 14 circles out of heavywight white cardstock with a die.

To compile each coin, I glued two of the heavyweight circles together and then added the front and the back to each coin. I used liquid glue so that I had that little bit of play while gluing the parts together to be sure to get them all lined up.

Once all the parts were glued together, I inked the edges with Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide ink and a mini blending tool. I was amazed at how well the color worked with Julia’s peonies.

I am so pleased with how these coins turned out. The uses of the various flower and collateral elements are endless and can be used for cards and 3D projects.

The challenge over at the World Wide Design Team Challenge blog goes for a month and the theme is Anything Goes as long as you are a member of a design team anywhere in the world. We look forward to you sharing your projects with us.
