Today I am here to show you the results of a play day I had on Saturday. I wanted to make some cards to send to each of you that always comment on my blog. I so appreciate you taking the time to do so and your kind words. So this card had to incorporate many things that us crafters enjoy doing.
Firstly I die cut lots of flowers from a Spellbinders die set. These little flowers work so well for focal points and for embellishments. I decided to go for different color combos. My focal point is a panel that I used homemade texture paste on that I applied through a stencil. I made the paste with tacky glue, baby powder and Dollar Tree loose eye shadow. Once the panel was dry, I cut it with a heart Hero Arts die and inked the edges with Distress Oxide ink and a foam blending tool.
I love plaid backgrounds, so that was going to be happening here. I added my heart to the middle and added the flower cluster to the top rounding. Each flower got a clear gem center. The card was completed with an Altenew sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink popped up on foam tape.
So the card features stenciling, texture paste, die cutting, blending, die cutting and stamping as well as the use of patterned paper. I would love to send you one, so if you have not received happy mail from me before or you have moved since you last got some from me, please contact me to get me your address.

This looks super, ingenious. Like that background with it. You have amazing ideas.
Wow! What an amazing combination of techniques, mediums and shapes, Monica! Loving those darling little flowers, and especially the heart. It almost resembles a carefully detailed heart-shaped cookie! Yummmmm! It's lovely! hugs, de
Love that you made your own paste Monica, I have done it too and love the effect, however I didn't use eye shadow, which is another great idea of yours. The heart is beautiful so much texture and shape to it. I love the flowers and the tartan background. A Beautiful card.

Monica, you are so creative! Your pastatexture worked perfectly well, so you are also self-sufficient in this matter. The card is beautiful, I love floral decorations. But the most important thing for the person who will get these cards is that the card was created out of the heart. This is the best posob for showing kindness 🙂
hugs,

Beautiful card and placed gorgeously with those colours. xx
lOVE IT, mONICA! I have used eye shadow before, nothing at all wrong with doing that, I just have SO MANY (old old) craft chalks I have only looked in my makeup bag when I needed a shade I didn't have in the chalks. Thinking on this, I realize I need to throw out all my makeup since it has not been used since 2-29-2020! No joke, lol. Another thing I've done that I enjoyed was use Dear Daughter's old nail polishes to make backgrounds on ATC's, cards. Fun and used up otherwise good paint, lol. I just drew lines but the polishes were metallic so it looked cool. I love my card you sent me – thanks again! Some day I'll send some out again, hopefully! xoxo
