I created a cardpanel in Silhouette Studio as I wanted to - [A sky of Butterflies](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2019/02/a-sky-of-butterflies.html) - Today I am playing along again at the Butterfly Challenge blog and this time the letter is K. Here is the wheel: The idea is to use some or all of the elements in the wheel on the project. The project must have a butterfly on it though, that is mandatory. I created a 5.5x5.5 - [Colored die cuts](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2019/02/colored-die-cuts.html) - I am still playing with the January Spellbinders Small Die of the Month club. This time I cut all the pieces out of Strathmore Paint Pad paper and colored them with my Prismacolor colored pencils. That way I could add some dimension. I colored the face with some shading under the hairline. I used the shirt - [Paper Dolls](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2019/02/paper-dolls.html) - The Spellbinders Small Die of the Month club for January was the cutest couple of dolls. The set contains 21 dies and allows for a lot of customization of the dolls. Due to a glitch, I only received mine a few days ago. So now I had to play. For this card I did not do - [One Red Heart](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2019/02/one-red-heart.html) - Today I am using this digi that Julia Spiri kindly gave to members of the Kit and Clowder Facebook group. Isn't she sweet? I printed the image onto Canson XL watercolor paper as I wanted to make this a one layer CAS card and so the paper needed to be sturdy enough to also be - [Thank you with Roses](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2019/01/thank-you-with-roses.html) - I have had a rose layering stampset in my crafty stash for a while and had not ever really had time to try it out. So last week I took some time to just stamp out the flowers and the leaves. I stamped out two pages of flowers and leaves and cut them all out - [One sheet wonder](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2019/01/one-sheet-wonder.html) - Today I am sharing a project that incorporates two new things for me. Part of my Christmas present last year was a subscription to the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month club. I got my first package in December and these cards use die cuts done from that kit. The second element here is me - [The Butterfly Challenge](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2019/01/the-butterfly-challenge.html) - I recently ran across the Butterfly Challenge blog and the challenge hosted there was a lot of fun. The challenge requires the use of a butterfly somewhere in the project and then this fortnight the letter is Y and one can use a theme or a color or both or incorporate all seven elements into - [First project for World Wide Open Design Team](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2019/01/first-project-for-world-wide-open-design-team.html) - I am so excited to finally be able to share with you that I was chosen to be a member of the Design Team at World Wide Open Design Team challenge blog. You have to be a member of at least one design team to be able to enter their challenges and so the projects - [Anniversary](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/12/anniversary.html) - This month hubby and I celebrated our anniversary. Despite being so time-strapped, I wanted to make him a card. I had this cute silhouette die in my stash and decided this was a good time to use it. Our wedding colors were yellow and orange and so I used a yellow card base and cut - [The Fantasy Hat](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/10/the-fantasy-hat.html) - I am back with another card today. I had this image called Fantasy Hat by Julia Spiri printed out for a while and now it finally got colored and converted into a card. I wanted to play with a favorite technique of mine, which is only one single pop of color in the image. Previously - [Playing with watercolors](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/09/playing-with-watercolors.html) - I have always admired the beautiful cards that I have seen others make with watercolor backgrounds and so it was time to try it myself. I taped a piece of Strathmore Paint Pad paper, yes the same paper I use for my pencils, down onto my glass mat and used my Crayola Watercolors and got - [Faux Stained Glass](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/07/faux-stained-glass.html) - Another inspiration from Jennifer McQuire's YouTube channel. I loved the beautiful faux stained glass elements that she created and so decided to make one myself. I used this butterfly die from my stash and cut it out 4 times from white cardstock and one time from black cardstock. I traced the outline shape and fussy - [Swatch ring](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/05/swatch-ring.html) - The first time I had seen the idea of a swatch ring for coloring medium with a hole in the swatch for easy reference was on Kim Holden's website. I wanted to create a swatch set with only the main color on it and so I adapted her chart to a simpler one. This also - [Emboss and die cut](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/03/emboss-and-die-cut.html) - I have another birthday card to share with you today. This one was inspired by my Darice embossing folder with a whole tree on it. I embossed the card panel with the tree embossing folder and then used my Crayola water color paints to paint the leaves and the stem. I was going for whimsy - [Orchids - clean and simple](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/03/orchids-clean-and-simple.html) - This card is made with the orchids lesson in the Kit and Clowder Elements of Nature class. I loved the very sleek look on the flowers and wanted to keep the card that way. As with all my coloring, I did the orchids with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I trimmed the drawing paper on which - [Owl say hello](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/02/owl-say-hello.html) - Today I am back with another card made from a Kit and Clowder All About Animals class practice. This is the owl lesson. Although I have been a member of the Animals class for a while, I found it rather intimidating as everything was aimed at markers and what do I know about Copics?? But - [A little blending of purple and green](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/01/a-little-blending-of-purple-and-green.html) - Time for another card made with a lesson from the Kit and Clowder Elements of Nature class. This one is the succulent lesson. I love succulents in real life too, they are about the only plant I don't end up over- or under- watering. I colored the image with my Prismacolor colored pencils and trimmed - [White, brown and yellow](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/01/white-brown-and-yellow.html) - Today I have another coloring card to share with you. I was back in the Kit and Clowder Elements of Nature classroom and this time I did the Frangipani lesson. I colored the flowers with my Prismacolor colored pencils and then cut them out using my PixScan mat with an offset. I wanted to not - [Using a card sketch](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/01/using-a-card-sketch.html) - This card that I want to share today has a number of firsts in it. Firstly, I discovered card sketches at Pagemaps.com. Making use of one of the January ones, I created this card The puppy is an exercise from the Kit and Clowder All About Animals class which I cut out with my newly - [White on white with 3 elements](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2018/01/white-on-white-with-3-elements.html) - Today I have a card that does not have any coloring on it. This is unusual for me, but I had an idea and so I wanted to try it out. I embossed the card panel with a Darice embossing folder and then cut the sentiment and the 3 music notes out using my Silhouette - [Clean and Simple](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2017/12/clean-and-simple.html) - Time to return to the classroom after a long absence. I had printed this tree digital stamp from the Kit and Clowder Elements of Nature class out eons ago and now was the time to color it up. Using my Prismacolor colored pencils in a myriad of colors, I applied the various layers to the - [The bug challenge](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2017/06/the-bug-challenge.html) - I am sure you are wondering - What is a bug challenge?? That is this month's challenge over at Power Poppy. The challenge is to create a card with any sort of a bug on it and so here is my entry. This card is a showcase of both the things I love doing, coloring - [Celebrating Greenery](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2017/03/celebrating-greenery.html) - You may know that Greenery is the Pantone color of the year for 2017. The folks over at PowerPoppy (I love their flower stamps) are doing a Let's Go Green challenge this month to celebrate the fresh color. What a better subject than a green leaf with dewdrops glimmering on them? Dewdrops is a lesson - [A posie of pansies](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2017/02/a-posie-of-pansies.html) - Pansies, those little faces on the flowers that come in various colors and yet they all live in harmony together. Is that the reason why we all inherently love them? Do they depict some form of perfection that eludes us so often? But I digress! I relaxed with my Prismacolor pencils to bring these pansies - [Somewhat vintage...](https://sunshinecreativity.com/2017/02/somewhat-vintage.html) - Today's post features this card This lavender in the rusty watering can is another lesson from my Kit and Clowder Elements of Nature class. I just loved how the organic rustiness came out on the can. Also the depth in the tiny lavender flowers. The image just gave me the feeling of earthiness and I ## Pages - [Home](https://sunshinecreativity.com/) - My latest make See what I have been working on Design Teams Current and past teams Who am I?This is my crafting happy place.
